Pagglait Movie Review – Check out the honest review of the Movie!
I recently watched the movie #Pagglait. When you watch the trailer you figure that the Netflix original has a humor element in it. But there is more when we see that a young and quirky Sandhya Giri played by Sanya Malhotra is a widow after merely few months of her marriage.
#Pagglait is a fresh story of Sandhya, played by #SanyaMalhotra, a young widow who was married just 5 months back. Owing to the untimely death of her husband, the movie revolves around, how Sandhya is expected to feel versus how she is actually feeling. Pagglait comes out as a unique make. Good acting skills played by all the characters. Its worth Watching!
Pagglait also marks singer Arijit Singh’s debut as a composer. The songs ‘Dil Udd Ja Re’ and ‘Thode Kam Ajnabi’ are pleasant and soothing to hear. The most commendable aspect of the album is that Singh has filled it with female singers, which is unusual even for women-centred Bollywood films. Neeti Mohan is lovely, and I love the buttery-voiced Himani Kapoor who sings ‘Thode Kam Ajnabi.’
It’s interesting to see how this affects her and her journey facing a new world. Though the movie is simple and not the usual Bollywood tadka, it conveys another societal message. The film Pagglait, reminds us of the many ways in which society and men control women. The word becomes an aspirational state, suggesting a woman crazy enough to break the rules and take on the world. I would rate it a 3 out of 5!
