Siddhu (Vidyut Jammwal) from Mumbai loves doing stunts. He aspires to go to MAIDAAN, a place somewhere in Europe, to compete and win big prize money. Dev (Arjun Rampal) runs the place and has bizarre challenges for contestants worldwide. When Siddhu finally reaches his dream place, he learns the shocking truth about the death of his brother Nihaal (who also had the same dream).

Crakk Movie Review: Script Analysis

How does one analyse a movie script for which the makers hardly made any effort to make sense? Siddhu abandons his parents with no second thoughts to leave with a stranger on a ship and lands somewhere in Europe in MAIDAAN. Dev is a maniac who not only comes up with these deadly challenges but also runs corrupt businesses. Then there’s a team of random people like the Bigg Boss, keeping an eye on everything that happens at MAIDAAN. There’s also Amy Jackson, a police officer who wants to expose Dev and his illegal business for her country’s sake. The film also has Nora Fatehi, but you can ignore her as the makers intended.

I don’t know how to put it politely, but Crakk is a movie for people who get sadistic pleasure from seeing others die a painful death. Honestly, no one even cares about the contestants dying in these Squid Game-like set-ups performing Khatron Ke Khiladi-type stunts, but on steroids. At least Dev is the villain, so it’s understood he has no humanity left. But what about others? Why are the public and the commentators cheering so much, considering some contestants are dying?

Usually, the protagonists of the film have compassion towards others. Considering, Siddhu lost his brother in the same place, why is he not bothered about the deaths? Why is no one questioning this game where people are just landing dead? I couldn’t even process the lunacy happening on screen once I saw these young men and girls falling dead with millions of people watching it live on screen.

There is nothing in the film that makes sense. Yes, everything defies the law of physics. But what about logic? Why are the dialogues so horrible? Why is the movie so long? Why is something like this even allowed on this planet? I wonder if there’s anyone except the makers who would make sense of anything that’s happening on screen.

Crakk Movie Review: Star Performance

Vidyut Jammwal yet again gets into action mode. His accent is terrible, and his display of emotions is worse. Arjun Rampal as Dev is heinous, and it seems like there’s some RaOne left within him. And he wants to show humans what a video game character feels like when you play fatal adventures with them. Amy Jackson, as Patricia struggles to get hold of Dev while also struggling to speak the tricky Hindi dialogues. A dance number with Nora Fatehi would’ve made more sense than the pointless character she plays. Also, everyone makes Hindi sound horrible, except for Arjun.

Crakk Movie Review: Direction, Music

Aditya Datt’s brave attempt to bring life to a ridiculous script is commendable. Everything we see on the screen is so horrid, that you can only appreciate his courage to direct something like this. Not a single character is presented in a likeable manner. The action sequences give you no adrenaline rush. The twist after twist after twist doesn’t shock you. The final sequence between Vidyut and Arjun is lengthy and tedious, with no element of surprise.

The music by Mithoon, MC Square, Tanishk Bagchi and Vikram Montrose is forgettable.

Crakk Movie Review: The Last Word

The movie leaves you with many whys, one of them being – why would someone think this is worthy of being a movie? The joy of watching action cinema is ruthlessly murdered with every passing minute!
